Series Mossy

Material-driven concept
This series of products is grounded in two innovative, eco-friendly, biodegradable materials, creating a collection that challenges conventional norms and leverages the inherent qualities of the materials to achieve functionality.

1. Fujigoke Fresh moss with rubber coating

Freeze-dried fresh moss from the foot of Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage site, coated with rubber. Completely natural with no chemical dyes, it retains the texture of fresh moss without watering or soil.

2. Carraphane Bio-polymers made from algae

A biopolymer derived from seaweed that is water-soluble and biodegradable, as well as sealable and thermoformable, making it ideal for packaging applications. It is composed of algae (all red algae containing carrageenan), water, and natural plasticizers.

1. Biodegradable green tea packaging

When designing packaging based on the moss’s color changing properties, the product should match the moss’s cycle. Green tea reaches its best quality within a year, coinciding with the moss’s color change period. This packaging links the tea’s shelf life with the moss’s transformation, using natural, non-toxic plant materials.

2. Expiration-indicating face cream packaging

By synchronizing the moss material’s color change with the product’s lifecycle, the expiration of skincare products becomes visually clear. The moss–glass packaging makes usage visible and helps prevent waste caused by overconsumption.

3. Moss Piggy Bank

A children’s piggy bank made with biodegradable materials carries a formal metaphor: transforming the change of moss into the mandarin’s ripening process. Let the colors indicate the stage of ripeness, so that children can break the bottom at the right moment to “harvest” it.
